The ability of Burmese society to think critically and make quality arguments and counter-arguments is creduously deficient.

The self-styled liberal camp mainly driven by western funders' agenda would just vomit any monkey meat being fed to them and ape any rhetorics or actions of the benefactors. The dogmatic nationalist groups, on the other hand, would gleefully and insensitively take part in low and resentful speech and assaults, often to their own detriment.

The result is that Burma's antagonists (including some of our regional neighbors) think we are stupid or blindfolded and that they could manipulate what they want. Those external contenders have become emboldened due to the lack of nuanced and worthy discussion in Burmese media and public forum. 

Burmese intellectuals can also be found at the two extremes. Living abroad, some are only using the country's woes and challenges for their own intellectual masturbation. Others do not live up to the level of producing balanced and truthful analyses.
